Russia tops list of Azerbaijan’s non-oil export destinations With Türkiye and Georgia following
From January to August 2024, Russia emerged as the leading importer of non-oil products from Azerbaijan, with exports amounting to $752 million.
Türkiye ranked second, importing $395 million worth of non-oil products during the same period. Georgia followed in third place, with imports totalling $158 million from Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO).
The United States and Switzerland secured the fourth and fifth positions, with export volumes of $109 million and $100 million, respectively.
According to statistics, tomatoes are the top non-oil export from Azerbaijan. In monetary terms, Azerbaijan exported tomatoes worth $139.5 million in the first eight months of the year, representing a 12.3% increase compared to the same period last year.
Cotton fibre ranked second among the most exported goods, with exports rising by 66.1% to reach $138.5 million. Gold came in third, with an export volume of $96.1 million, marking a 26.3% growth.
Nitrogen fertilizers and aluminium alloy plates held the fourth and fifth spots, with export values of $78.7 million (an 88% increase) and $72.4 million (a 2.6-fold increase), respectively.
