Serbian defense minister visits Azerbaijan to strengthen military cooperation
A delegation led by Serbian Minister of Defense Bratislav Gašić visited Azerbaijan at the invitation of Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov, the Ministry of Defense reports.
The Azerbaijan Defense Ministry held a welcoming ceremony where both ministers reviewed the guard of honor and the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Serbia were played, Caliber.Az reports, citing Azertac. Gašić also signed the Book of Honor as part of the protocol.
Colonel General Hasanov welcomed the Serbian delegation, highlighting the high level of strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Serbia and the importance of further military cooperation. He mentioned the withdrawal of Armenian forces from Azerbaijani territory following the Patriotic War and anti-terror operations.
Hasanov invited Gašić to the 5th Azerbaijan International Defense Exhibition (ADEX) in Baku in September 2024. Gašić expressed gratitude for the hospitality and congratulated Azerbaijan on its victory in the Patriotic War, affirming readiness for cooperation in various sectors.
The meeting included discussions on the current state and prospects of military, military-technical, and military-educational cooperation, regional security, and other common interests.
