Taiwan’s Defence Ministry detects Chinese Air Force aircraft, PLA ships near the island
The Taiwanese Armed Forces have detected 32 aircraft and nine ships of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) approaching the island.
This is stated in the message of the defence department of the island in the social network X (ex-Twitter).
It is specified that 20 aircraft crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait or entered the island's air defence identification (ADI) zone to the southwest, southeast, or northeast of the island. According to Taiwan's Ministry of Defence, these included TB-001, BZK-005, and CH-4 drones, SU-30 and J-10 fighter jets, JH-7 fighter-bombers, Y-8 anti-submarine aircraft, KJ-500 long-range radar detection aircraft, and Y-9 electronic warfare aircraft.
In response, Taiwan's army deployed aircraft, ships, and land-based anti-aircraft missile systems to monitor the targets, the island's defence ministry said.
