Test train collision in China's Yunnan kills 11
A test train crashed into a group of railway workers in China’s southwestern Yunnan province on the early morning of November 27, leaving 11 people dead and two injured, according to Chinese media.
Test Train No. 55537—used for seismic equipment testing—collided with construction workers who were entering the track on a curved section near Luoyangzhen Station in Kunming, the provincial capital.
Following the incident, railway authorities and local government officials immediately launched an emergency response to coordinate rescue operations. Station activities have since resumed, and the injured workers are receiving medical treatment.
In a statement posted on social media, Kunming’s railway authority expressed condolences to the victims and their families. An investigation into the cause of the accident is currently underway.
