TRNC leader thanks Azerbaijani counterpart for strong support and solidarity with Northern Cyprus
On April 11, President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan held a meeting with Ersin Tatar, President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, in Antalya.
During their conversation, both leaders warmly reminisced about their previous encounters in Azerbaijan and at various international events, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Notably, they recalled President Tatar’s participation in the informal Summit of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States, which took place last year in Shusha.
President Aliyev emphasized the significance of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus joining the Organization of Turkic States as an observer, marking an important step in strengthening regional ties.
In response, President Tatar expressed his heartfelt gratitude to President Aliyev for the unwavering solidarity and support extended to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. He also appreciated the Azerbaijani leader’s remarks made a few days earlier at an international forum held at ADA University.
The two Presidents further discussed the organization of reciprocal visits at various levels and explored opportunities for enhanced cooperation across multiple sectors.
