Trump campaign office burglarised, police confirm
The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office has announced that a man broke into and burglarised a Trump campaign office in suburban Washington, D.C on August 11.
Police released photos showing the suspect, who was captured on camera walking around the office and apparently filling a backpack with items, Caliber.Az reports citing the foreign media.
Authorities were alerted to the break-in around 9 p.m. on August 11.
Sheriff Mike Chapman remarked, “It is unusual for any political campaign or party office to be targeted in this way. We are committed to identifying the suspect, understanding the motive behind the break-in, and assessing what was taken or left behind.”
The Ashburn, Virginia, office also serves as the headquarters for the Virginia 10th District Republican Committee. The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is continuing its investigation and seeking additional information about the suspect.
The break-in was announced on the same day the FBI revealed it will investigate an alleged hack of the Trump campaign's files. The campaign claims that hackers, allegedly backed by the Iranian government, breached its data.
