Egypt, China call for Gaza reconstruction support
Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Chinese Premier Li Qiang stressed the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in resolving global conflicts during a meeting held at the government headquarters in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital on July 9.
According to a statement from the Egyptian Cabinet, both leaders acknowledged the current state of international uncertainty and emphasised the responsibility of the global community in encouraging all conflicting parties to act with political wisdom and restraint, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
“The international community must fulfill its role in obliging all conflicting parties to act with responsibility and political wisdom, contributing to the resolution of all conflicts on various fronts through dialogue and diplomatic means,” the statement reads.
The two sides also highlighted the urgent need to mobilise continued international support for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip. They reaffirmed backing for the Arab-Islamic plan adopted during the extraordinary Arab Summit held in Cairo on March 4.
Premier Li arrived in Cairo on July 9 as part of an official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral ties. His trip to Egypt follows his participation in the 17th BRICS summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
