French Armed Forces chief of staff names Russia as main threat VIDEO
The Chief of the General Staff of the French Armed Forces, Army General Thierry Burkhard, stated that Russia is the primary threat to France.
"Russia poses a threat in nearly every aspect. It is a persistent, nearby, and in my view, the most significant threat in terms of scale. Above all, Russia is a true military power, both in terms of conventional and nuclear weapons," Burkhard said at a press conference in Paris, Caliber.Az reports citing French media.

At the same time, Burkhard noted that "France, due to its geographic location and possession of nuclear weapons, is not the country under the greatest threat."
He also acknowledged the "need to maintain military contacts with Russia." However, he added that "such contacts are conducted at a technical level, and this is not sufficient to reduce tensions."
