Trump's envoy Kellogg to visit Ukraine shortly
Keith Kellogg, the US Special Envoy for Ukraine, is scheduled to arrive in Kyiv on 14 July for a week-long visit, he confirmed to a Novyny Live journalist at the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Rome. Further details regarding the trip have not been disclosed.
Kellogg last visited Kyiv in February, shortly after the inauguration of US President Donald Trump, Caliber.Az reports per Ukrainian media.
The announcement comes amid growing speculation that President Trump intends to use his presidential authority to approve a new military aid package for Ukraine. This would be the first time he has taken such action since assuming office, with the Trump administration until now allowing only the continuation of arms supplies authorised by former President Joe Biden.
Tensions had already risen a week earlier when Kyiv and its European allies were unsettled by a sudden Pentagon decision to pause certain weapons shipments bound for Ukraine, including Patriot air defence missiles and precision munitions, pending a review of US stockpiles.
In addition, President Trump teased a “major statement” on Russia set for 14 July and outlined plans to supply arms to Ukraine with funding from NATO.
