Iran suspends attacks after two-night US strike pause, military says

Iran has suspended its attacks after the United States refrained from carrying out strikes over the past two nights, Iranian army spokesman Amir Akraminia said on July 26.

“Americans stopped their attacks over the past two nights. Since our strategy has been entirely retaliatory, we also stopped our retaliatory operations,” Akraminia emphasised.

The spokesman added that US officials appeared to be divided and lacking a coherent strategy, pointing to statements by US President Donald Trump and the actions of US Central Command.

“The US strategy is unclear even to the country’s own officials. This is evident in the remarks of US officials, particularly the US president, as well as in the actions of US Central Command,” he stressed.

Akraminia also warned that any further US strikes would widen the conflict, arguing that the war had already expanded to the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
