Typhoon forces evacuation of more than 710,000 in southern China

Authorities in southern China's Guangdong Province have evacuated more than 710,000 people as Typhoon Noul swept through the region, according to Chinese media.

The largest number of evacuations was recorded in Huizhou, where more than 205,000 residents were relocated, followed by Shanwei with approximately 192,000 evacuees.

The typhoon made landfall in Guangdong on July 26, bringing wind gusts of up to 45 meters per second. The storm is now moving northward and gradually weakening.

Heavy rain warnings remain in effect across the provinces of Guangdong, Jiangxi and Hunan as authorities monitor the risk of further severe weather.
