Matt Damon reveals his biggest fear while filming Nolan's The Odyssey

Actor Matt Damon, who plays Odysseus in Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, revealed the biggest challenge he faced during production while appearing on The Dan Patrick Show.

The 55-year-old actor said his greatest concern on set was suffering an injury—particularly "that stupid injury people our age get," such as throwing out his back, according to Entertainment Weekly.

"Walking down that mountain every night. ... The going up was fine. It was actually a nice way to start the day. A lot of us really liked it. For anybody who hikes, it’s always harder coming down. I felt a tweak in my left knee, like, a week in, and I was really really mindful," Damon stressed.

According to the actor, the rugged terrain made filming especially demanding, as the cast and crew had to hike down the mountain after each day's shoot. He noted that an injury could have effectively halted production because the only way down from the filming location was on foot.

Damon recently revealed that he slimmed down to his high school weight for the lead role in The Odyssey. While his weight normally ranges between 83 and 90 kilograms (183–198 pounds), he dropped to 75 kilograms (165 pounds) during filming, losing between 8 and 15 kilograms (18–33 pounds).
