Ukrainian top diplomat: Russia must face real pressure
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha held a meeting with U.S. Senators Lindsey Graham and Richard Blumenthal—key sponsors of new sanctions legislation in Congress that would impose significant tariffs on countries trading with Russia.
On July 11, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha announced that he held an important conversation with Senators Graham and Blumenthal in Rome, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry’s Telegram channel.
“Their participation in the Ukraine Recovery Conference and the Coalition of the Willing meeting sent a strong signal of transatlantic unity and support for Ukraine’s resilience, recovery, and defence,” he emphasised.
Sybiha noted that Ukraine greatly values the efforts of the U.S. Senate aimed at achieving a just and lasting peace.
“Russia and those supporting its military actions must face real pressure. In this context, I also stressed the importance of lowering the oil price cap to deprive Russia of oil revenues, which it converts into war crimes,” the Ukrainian diplomat said.
