Trump signals tough US response if Iran revives nuclear ambitions “KHAMENEI SHOULD BE WORRIED”

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei should be worried, US President Donald Trump said in an interview with NBC, warning that Washington is prepared to take tough action if Tehran seeks to revive its nuclear program.

Trump stated that Iran continues negotiations with the United States: “I would say he should be very worried, yes. As you know, they are negotiating with us.” 

Against the backdrop of ongoing tensions, the US president said Washington is prepared to impose harsh measures, noting that the US had uncovered Iran’s plans to build a new nuclear facility elsewhere in the country and had warned Tehran of severe consequences if it proceeded.

Asked by a journalist about the assistance he had previously promised to Iranian protesters, Trump said that support had been provided and claimed that there is unrest in Iran because of the United States.

“We went in and wiped out their nuclear,” Trump stressed.
