Turkish official: Azerbaijan, Türkiye strives to ensure regional peace

Chairman of the National Defence Committee of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Hulusi Akar has said that Azerbaijan and Türkiye closely cooperate in the field of defence industry and conduct joint exercises.

"Our main goal is to ensure peace, stability and cooperation in the region. In this regard, we are trying to ensure that the peace proposal made by Azerbaijan to Armenia is accepted by Yerevan as soon as possible and stability prevails in the region," Hulusi Akar said during a visit to Azerbaijan, Azertag reports.

He added that some countries want to make Armenia a proxy state: "If Armenia follows their orders, it will suffer serious damage as it did during the 44-day war".
