Türkiye to increase investments in energy sector

Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar said that investments in the energy sector in 2024 will amount to 75.7 billion liras (70 per cent growth) and in the mining sector - 106 billion liras (34 per cent growth).

According to Bigpara, the largest investments will be in the exploration and production of natural gas and oil.

"We plan to invest around 100 billion liras to expand our production capacity and increase production, especially in the Sakarya gas field and in the Gabar region," the minister said. We will increase investments in the energy sector.

Apart from that, 5,000 megawatts of wind and solar power plants will be commissioned annually with private sector involvement.

"Our goal is to add a total of 60,000 megawatts of additional installed renewable capacity to our existing installed capacity by 2035," Bayraktar said.
