Ukraine's allies to envoy defence leaders to meeting at NATO HQ
The United Kingdom and France will be hosting a meeting at the Brussels headquarters of NATO on April 10 to bring together the so-called Coalition of the Willing on Ukraine.
This has been announced on April 2 via the official website of NATO, Caliber.Az reports.
The gathering will summon defence ministers from the over 30 countries that have pledged to strengthen military support for Ukraine as well as expressed willingness to potentially contribute with peacekeeping forces in the event of a peace agreement on the Ukraine conflict, which UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has referred to as the Coalition of the Willing.
British Defence Secretary John Healey will host the meeting together with the French Minister of the Armed Forces Sébastien Lecornu, as the two countries are the leading forces within the coalition. The last coalition summit occurred on March 27 in Paris in the presence of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, outgoing German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. In conclusion to the meeting, hosting French President Emmanuel Macron told reporters that all parties had agreed they would not soften sanctions imposed on Russia until peace was achieved.
