The "Unity-2025" (Birlik-2025) joint regional military exercise is currently taking place in the Samarkand region of Uzbekistan, bringing together troops from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
The exercise, structured in three stages, is focused on enhancing the protection and defence of national borders, as well as detecting, containing, and neutralising illegal armed groups, Caliber.Az reports citing the Defence Ministry of Azerbaijan.
Officials highlighted that a central aim of the drills is to strengthen coordination between the participating countries’ armed forces.
The exercise is also designed to develop the skills and capabilities necessary for conducting joint operations, reflecting a broader effort to improve regional security cooperation.
