US general: Third of world's most modern armed forces to be robotic
The US Armed Forces intend to unveil a new modernisation doctrine, which will include the use of robotics and artificial intelligence. It is expected that in 10-15 years, about a third of the world's most modern armed forces will be robotic.
The statement came from the head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the United States Mark Milley, RBC-Ukraine reports with reference to the Voice of America.
According to him, the United States seeks to optimise the use of modern technologies, including artificial intelligence, for warfare. This is done to "moderate the war of the great powers". In thid June, the general raised this topic and stated that AI will have a "fundamental impact" on the military.
Milley also stated that the pace of approaching access to new technologies is "rapidly approaching".
"This is a technology that our opponents will use against us, and it will be beneficial for us to get there first," the general said.
He also added that in the next 10-15 years, about a third of the most modern armed forces in the world will be robotic.
This will be used in unmanned vehicles, for example, in sea, air or land.
