US Secret Service probes escalator snag on Trump’s way up to UNGA hall VIDEO
The US Secret Service is investigating whether the malfunction of an escalator and a teleprompter during President Donald Trump’s address at the UN General Assembly was the result of a deliberate hack, Bloomberg reports, citing sources.
On September 23, Trump told delegates that it was an honor to speak before the UN, adding that the faulty escalator and teleprompter made the occasion “even more interesting.”
According to Bloomberg, the agency is now examining whether both the escalator and the teleprompter were intentionally tampered with.

On September 23, Trump said there were two things he got from the United Nations: “a bad escalator and a bad teleprompter.”
The teleprompter malfunctioned during his grievance-laden speech before the General Assembly. Another snag occurred when First Lady Melania Trump stepped onto an escalator at the New York headquarters and it ground to a halt, likely because a safety mechanism was triggered by someone in the US delegation, according to the UN.
