US President Joe Biden signed protocols on US ratification of agreements on August 9 for Finland and Sweden to join NATO.
Earlier, the Senate of the US Congress adopted a resolution on the ratification of the documents. According to the peculiarities of the US legislation, the president ratifies the documents, while the Senate gives its consent.
President Biden welcomed the results of the vote in the Senate, pointing out that the Senate's review of NATO expansion protocols was the fastest one since 1981.
