Macron holds late-night call with Trump to discuss Iran, Ukraine, EU-US trade tensions

Late on July 3, French President Emmanuel Macron held a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump, during which they exchanged views on developments in Iran, the situation in Ukraine, and ongoing EU-US trade discussions.

The call, which took place late in the evening, was confirmed by the Elysée shortly after midnight, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.

A source from the French presidency said the talks focused on global security and transatlantic cooperation, particularly amid current tensions over trade tariffs between Brussels and Washington.

Earlier on July 3, Macron also spoke with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. That conversation centred on developments in Iran and the situation in Gaza, as France continues its diplomatic outreach across the Middle East.
