N.Korea names its ultimate goal: "world's most powerful" nuclear force
North Korea's leader Kim Jong-un has said that North Korea's ultimate goal is to have the world's "most powerful" strategic nuclear forces.
His statement finds itself in an executive order signed by him, VOA reported citing North Korean state media on November 27.
"Our great ultimate goal of building nuclear forces to reliably protect the dignity and sovereignty of our state and people for all time is the greatest and most important revolutionary goal. And our ultimate goal is to possess the world's most powerful strategic force, an absolute power unprecedented in the past century," the document signed by Kim Jong-un reads.
Kim Jong-un called the domestic Hwasong-17 intercontinental ballistic missile the "world's strongest strategic weapon" and said it demonstrated North Korea's resolve and ability to eventually build the world's strongest army, the publication noted.
North Korean scientists have made a "wonderful leap forward in the development of the technology of mounting nuclear warheads on ballistic missiles", he added.
The leader recently ordered the promotion and awarding of the military, scientists and technical personnel involved in the recent launch of the Hwasong-17.
