Azerbaijan signs 65 conventions after Council of Europe membership
Azerbaijan has signed and ratified 65 conventions after joining the Council of Europe.
Deputy Secretary-General of the Council of Europe Bjorn Berge made the statement during a video message to the participants of a round table at ADA University dedicated to the 20th anniversary of cooperation between the Council of Europe and Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports, citing Azertag.
Both the Council of Europe and Azerbaijan demonstrate their commitment to cooperation and joint work over the past 20 years.
Azerbaijan has partially joined the agreements nine times, he said.
Bjorn Berge also spoke about the recent ratification of the Lanzarote Convention (the Council of Europe Convention on the Protection of Children from Sexual Violence and Sexual Acts). He stressed the importance of this step for the health and well-being of the current and future young generations.
