Azerbaijan, Germany hold inter-ministerial political consultations in Berlin
A new round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Germany took place in Berlin.
The Azerbaijani delegation was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Fariz Rzayev, while the German delegation was headed by the Federal Foreign Office’s Commissioner for Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia, Konrad Arz von Straussenburg, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani ministry.
The parties discussed the current state of political relations and emphasised the importance of mutual visits and meetings within the framework of international events to maintain a sustainable political dialogue. They also reviewed the current status and prospects for cooperation in economic, energy, transport, and humanitarian spheres, including strategic energy and transport projects implemented with Azerbaijan’s initiative and participation, as well as humanitarian demining projects.
Rzayev informed his counterparts about the regional situation in the post-conflict period, the process of normalising relations with Armenia, Azerbaijan’s steps toward establishing sustainable peace in the region, existing obstacles in this direction, and the large-scale restoration and construction work underway in the territories liberated from occupation.
During his visit, the Deputy Minister held business meetings with several German officials and participated in roundtable discussions with representatives of leading research and analytical centres.
