The Swedish government has allocated 7 million crowns ($657,000) to the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement for emergency assistance in overcoming the consequences of earthquakes in Türkiye and Syria.

The announcement came at a press conference on February 6 by Minister of Civil Defense Karl-Oscar Bolin.

“Sweden immediately allocates 7 million crowns to the Red Cross for humanitarian aid to Türkiye and Syria,” he explained. "5 million ($471,000) will be sent to the Red Crescent of Turkey, 2 million ($188,000) - to Syria."

Stockholm is also sending tents, equipment, and temporary shelter to the victims and providing expert assistance.
