Charlie Hebdo causes outrage with cartoon mocking Türkiye earthquake

French magazine Charlie Hebdo's cartoon featuring an earthquake that killed thousands of people in Türkiye and Syria has been criticised by social media users around the world.

According to TRT Haber, spreading hatred around the world under the guise of satire, Charlie Hebdo this time took aim at the earthquake in Türkiye.

"There is no need to send tanks," the comment under the cartoon says.

Internet users both from Türkiye and all over the world reacted to the drawing by expressing their frustration and anger.

"It is blatantly inhumane to joke about this drama when right now there are people under the rubble. What you are doing in the name of free speech is outrageous!"

"You call yourself a civilised man too? Wild animals have more dignity."

“Not funny and not interesting. It's embarrassing and disgusting."
