Erdogan says elections held by separatists in Garabagh worried Azerbaijan, Armenia

The elections held by the so-called regime in the Garabagh region have worried both Azerbaijan and Armenia.

The statement came from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on September 21.

According to him, local anti-terrorist measures implemented by Azerbaijan against separatist Armenian forces in Garabagh were successfully completed in less than 24 hours.

“The attempt to hold 'presidential elections' there seriously worried both Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan regarded this as a process that is still heating up the situation. Warnings were given, but despite this, nothing changed. On the contrary, the process continued, after which Azerbaijan also took a step. And he completed his operation quickly. I was informed that about 90 important targets were hit,” the Turkish leader noted, Caliber.Az informs, citing Haber Global.

Erdogan said he had a telephone conversation with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev about anti-terrorism measures.

“He thanked me for my speech at the UN General Assembly,” Erdogan said, referring to his support messages to Azerbaijan from the UN rostrum.
