UAE president welcomes Armenian PM, supports peace efforts with Azerbaijan
During a working visit to the United Arab Emirates, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held high-level talks with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, focusing on regional peace initiatives and prospects for enhanced bilateral cooperation.
The two leaders discussed the ongoing negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, including the draft peace agreement aimed at normalising relations between the two countries. Sheikh Mohammed welcomed the progress made and expressed hope for the timely signing of the agreement, underlining the UAE’s support for peace and stability in the South Caucasus, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
Prime Minister Pashinyan, in turn, acknowledged the UAE’s constructive role in promoting regional stability and enhancing international security.
The meeting also covered a wide range of bilateral issues, with both sides highlighting the strong level of mutual trust and the promising prospects for cooperation in economic, investment, and humanitarian sectors. Pashinyan emphasised the importance of deepening Armenian-Emirati relations and noted the significant potential for long-term partnership.
President Sheikh Mohammed reaffirmed the UAE’s interest in expanding ties with Yerevan and expressed readiness to advance mutually beneficial initiatives jointly.
Both leaders confirmed their commitment to maintaining a constructive dialogue and strengthening cooperation in the interest of their nations’ well-being.
