Armenian Prosecutor demands confiscation of opposition MP Sarkisyan’s assets
The Prosecutor General’s Office of Armenia has formally requested the confiscation of property belonging to the recently arrested opposition Member of Parliament Artur Sarkisyan, along with assets linked to individuals affiliated with him.
According to the official petition, the assets targeted for seizure include six real estate properties, two movable items, shares in six legal entities, and approximately 2 million drams (around $5,000) identified as remaining funds of alleged illegal origin, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media.
This development follows the parliament’s decision to strip Sarkisyan of his parliamentary immunity, after which a court ordered his detention for two months.
Sarkisyan faces charges related to supporting the revanchist movement known as "Sacred Struggle."
