White House: List of reforms handed to Ukraine not condition for military aid
The list of priority reforms handed over by the United States to Ukraine for early integration into Europe is not a condition for further military assistance to the country.
The remarks came from an unnamed representative of the US National Security Council, Voice of America reported.
He said the document is a working version of a list of prioritised reforms that was handed over for "discussion and feedback".
"This list is not a condition for future military aid. Reforms are needed for Ukraine's European integration," the White House representative said.
He noted that the document prescribes reforms for terms of three, six and 18 months. It concerns the supervisory boards of state-owned enterprises, anti-corruption agencies, the judiciary, and defence enterprises.
On September 25, it was reported that the White House deputy national security adviser for international economic affairs, Mike Pyle, sent Ukraine a letter with a list of reforms that it should implement in order to continue receiving aid.
