Swedish police kill lost elk in metro grounds

A wild elk made its way to the metro tracks in Stockholm and had to be shot dead after causing major disruptions to the public transportation system.

As reported by The Local Sweden, it is unclear how the animal entered the area, passing through fences designated to keep animals out of the metro infrastructure.

Stockholm police were made aware of the sighting on the morning of September 27 and dispatched wildlife rangers to the site to catch the elk. After unsuccessful attempts to lure the large animal out and 7 metro stops being closed, the rangers decided to kill the animal.
