US to announce disaster response team for South Caucasus

US Agency for International Development (USAID) chief Samantha Power said that the United States will deploy a disaster response team to the South Caucasus region because of the "crisis" in Garabagh, Gazeta.ru reported citing Reuters.

The United States will announce on Thursday that it has deployed a disaster response team to the South Caucasus region to coordinate American humanitarian assistance.

The team, first reported by Reuters, will assess the situation, identify priority needs to scale up assistance and work with partners to provide urgently needed aid, Power will say in a statement seen by Reuters.
