Bishkek hosts first interdepartmental cybersecurity commission meeting

The first meeting of Kyrgyzstan’s Interdepartmental Commission on Information and Cybersecurity was held in Bishkek on Tuesday, September 22, as part of the national CYBERNOMAD FEST 2026.

First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Daniyar Amangeldiyev attended the meeting.

Participants discussed cooperation between government agencies and municipalities, current cybersecurity threats and ways to strengthen coordination mechanisms, according to reports from the festival. Current coverage also says the commission considered information exchange between agencies and the protection of government digital systems.

The festival, held at Bishkek’s Zhashtyk Arena, brought together more than 700 representatives of government bodies, banks and financial institutions, IT and telecommunications companies, educational institutions, international organisations and the professional and expert community.

The CYBERNOMAD FEST 2026 programme includes panel discussions, a technology exhibition and practical cybersecurity exercises. The event also features a professional networking platform.

The final stage of the cybersecurity competition involves 11 teams that advanced through two qualifying rounds. The final is being held in an Attack/Defense format, with teams simultaneously defending their own infrastructure and identifying vulnerabilities in their competitors’ systems.
