Brazilian president says US has ended Venezuela’s sovereignty

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has criticised US actions towards Venezuela, saying they have effectively ended the country’s sovereignty.

“It’s very severe, what the US did to Venezuela,” Brazil’s President Lula tells me. “The sovereignty of the country has ended. This is not good. It’s not good for the US and it’s not good for Venezuela and it’s not good for democracy either,” he said in an interview with CNN.

Lula also stated: “Trump doesn't have the right to govern other countries.”
