Media: Czech Republic plans to freeze new Russian real estate developments

29 November 2023 11:11

The Czech authorities want to freeze new real estate objects belonging to Russia within the framework of national sanctions.

The Financial and Analytical Office (FAU) of the republic is investigating hotels controlled by Russian state organizations, Czech TV (ČTV) reports.

Two weeks ago, the government imposed sanctions against the company FSUE Goszagranzobranstvo, which controls dozens of Russian real estate properties in the Czech Republic, notes ČTV.

The source refers to the Ulrika Hotel in Karlovy Vary, which is controlled by Svyazinvestneftekhim from Tatarstan, and the Moskovsky Dvor Hotel, which belongs to the Russian state-owned company Medical Center.

The Czech authorities also propose to add all citizens and companies from the Czech Republic's national sanctions list to the EU sanctions list.
