Kremlin: Russia remains ready for talks on Ukraine
Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said that Moscow is still ready to sit at the negotiating table, but the past dialogue was interrupted by the Ukrainian side.
"The President has repeatedly said that the main thing for us is to achieve our goals. And, of course, predominantly we would prefer to do it by political and diplomatic means. That's why we remain ready for negotiations," Peskov said this on air on the RTVI TV channel.
According to the spokesman, Ukraine itself interrupted past negotiations. "They themselves recognized that this was done at Britain's behest. Therefore, the situation is quite obvious," Peskov said.
He does not believe that further dialogue between Kyiv and Moscow can take place on the territory of one of the Western countries. "Rather, a principled theoretical conclusion is written in this publication," Peskov summarized.
