Russia, US in frequent contact over Ukraine, says Kremlin aide
Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov has confirmed that Russia and the United States are engaged in frequent diplomatic dialogue concerning the war in Ukraine, with discussions taking place nearly every day.
Ushakov stated that Moscow and Washington maintain consistent channels of communication not only on the Ukrainian conflict but also on a range of other strategic issues, Caliber.Az reports citing Russian media.
Responding to a question about the frequency of contacts, Ushakov remarked, “I don’t know about daily, but definitely not hourly.” He added, “Probably once every two days, and sometimes every day. This is due to the fact that we continue the dialogue with the new US administration and have a dialogue both on Ukraine and on some other issues.”
Despite the ongoing conflict and mutual accusations, both sides appear to be keeping diplomatic lines open — a dynamic that analysts say is essential for managing escalation risks and addressing humanitarian and security concerns.
