Erdogan: Türkiye stands shoulder to shoulder with its brothers in Karabakh

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that Türkiye stands shoulder to shoulder with its brothers in Karabakh and walks confidently on this path.

Erdogan made the remarks at a rally held in Adana's railway station square, according to Report.

"We are resolutely defending the interests of our state, the honour of our nation in the international arena. Türkiye is taking firm steps towards becoming a global power rather than a regional one. Our country's primary role in resolving crises is becoming more and more realized. We are in Libya, in Karabakh," Erdogan said.

Meanwhile, Türkiye's Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloglu stated that the Zangezur corridor is an important project that will connect the country with the Turkic world.

Emphasizing that the corridor is a line to reach Baku directly, Uraloglu noted that thanks to the project, which will be implemented through Armenia or Iran, transportation in the Turkic world will increase significantly.

Azerbaijan continues to build roads and railways through the Zangezur corridor, which will connect its western regions with its exclave of Nakhchivan and serve as a route for the middle corridor connecting China to Central Asia, the Caspian Sea, the Caucasus, and finally Türkiye.

Following the Second Karabakh War, the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Russia signed a declaration on November 10, 2020, agreeing to open land roads and railways between Azerbaijan and the eastern Nakhchivan region, a non-contiguous part of Azerbaijan with a section of Armenia in between.

Despite the trilateral statement, Armenia continues to refuse to execute the deal's obligations for the Zangezur corridor.
