Armenia's law-enforcement system said to be in complete disarray
Armenia's law enforcement system remains in complete disarray as a result of the appointment of a new prosecutor-general.
"Comparisons are being made, in particular, to the fact that [former Prosecutor-Gerneral] Artur Davtyan was from the Armenian Prosecutor's Office system, and it was possible to speak with him and reach an agreement on many issues. However, because Anna Vardapetyan is not a member of this system, the connection with the prosecutor general is severed, and a more difficult period begins for prosecutors," Caliber.Az reports, quoting Zhokhovurd newspaper.
The publication assumes that many prosecutors will leave the system.
"We have already written about the deputy Prosecutor General, who will also leave. It should be noted that the elected Prosecutor-General Anna Vardapetyan will take office on September 15, but preparatory work is already underway, a search for personnel is underway, many refuse to work with her, and a series of resignation statements can be expected soon," the newspaper writes.
