Millions of good and innocent people could have died! Your legacy is greatly enhanced by your brave actions. I am proud that the USA was able to help you arrive at this historic and heroic decision. While not even discussed, I am going to increase trade, substantially, with both of these great Nations. Additionally, I will work with you both to see if, after a “thousand years,” a solution can be arrived at concerning Kashmir. God Bless the leadership of India and Pakistan on a job well done!!! UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has also confirmed that the government is actively working to de-escalate the escalating conflict between India and Pakistan along their shared border.
The prime minister disclosed that UK officials have been in discussions with both Indian and Pakistani representatives over the past few days in a concerted effort to calm tensions that have risen significantly in recent weeks.
"I'm pleased to see today that there's a ceasefire, and I think the issue now is to make an enduring and lasting ceasefire," Starmer said.
Starmer expressed deep concern about the rapid deterioration of relations between the two neighboring nations, calling the situation extremely worrying.
He emphasised the importance of diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation and to ensure that the ceasefire leads to sustainable peace in the region.
The India-Pakistan relations sharply deteriorated following a terrorist attack on April 22 in Pahalgam, located in the Indian-administered region of Jammu and Kashmir, which resulted in the deaths of 25 Indian citizens and one Nepali. In the early hours of May 7, the Indian Armed Forces launched strikes on terrorist bases in Pakistan. In response, the Pakistani government initiated a large-scale military operation, named "Banyan ul-Marsus" ("Wall Covered in Lead").
