ANAMA informs head of OSCE Parliamentary Assembly about Azerbaijan's mine problem PHOTO
First Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Agency for Mine Action of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA) Bahruz Mammadov held a meeting with the delegation of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly headed by President Pia Kauma.
President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Pia Kauma was informed about the mine problem faced by Azerbaijan after almost 30 years of occupation of its territories, which now prevents the return to their homes of Azerbaijanis once expelled from there, Caliber.Az reports, citing ANAMA.
Mammadov told the delegation led by President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Pia Kauma about the civilian demining work carried out by the agency, the threats posed by mines to people's lives and the return of former IDPs to their homes, the progress of construction and reconstruction works in the territories freed from occupation.
Pia Kauma, noting the great importance of ANAMA's work, thanked for the answers and for every mine discovered, as a result of which at least one human life was saved.
