NATO reaffirms commitment to regional security cooperation with Azerbaijan, Armenia
NATO Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Security Policy Boris Ruge has reiterated the Alliance’s readiness to work closely with both Azerbaijan and Armenia to support regional stability and deepen political engagement.
Ruge held separate meetings with the permanent representatives of Azerbaijan and Armenia to NATO, during which the sides discussed the outcomes of the recent high-level talks between Baku and Yerevan, held on August 8 in Washington and mediated by the United States, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
In a statement posted on X, Ruge wrote that he had conveyed NATO’s congratulations to the ambassadors of both countries on the “historic meeting” in Washington and expressed the Alliance’s encouragement at the positive momentum generated.
Ruge noted that NATO welcomes this progress and will continue to work closely with both Armenia and Azerbaijan to strengthen this partnership and advance regional security.
