Armenia detains persons suspected of armed seizure of power

Armenia’s National Security Service has detained eight people suspected of preparing for an armed seizure of power.

“Members of the military-patriotic public organization “Crusaders” reached agreements to seize power by using weapons stored in their possession with the use of violence that is dangerous to life or health,” Report quotes the Service’s press service as saying.

According to the service, a total of eight people were detained. Their names are not mentioned. It was not indicated what kind of weapon they were going to use, but the video published along with the statement shows a handgun, a hunting rifle, and body armour and walkie-talkies are also visible in the footage.
