Armenia unmasks criminal group of defence officials engaged in corruption

Last Friday, the Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia issued a statement that as a result of the conducted covert operative-search complex measures, factual data on new illegal actions of a number of officials of the country's Ministry of Defence have been obtained.

"The investigative body has discovered a criminal group in the Armenian Ministry of Defence, the members of which were transferring soldiers for money, which caused the interest of law enforcement officers," the Armenian newspaper "Zhokhovurd" writes, according to Caliber.Az.

According to the newspaper, this is not the only case uncovered by the Anti-Corruption Committee. Another criminal organisation has been detected in the Ararat region. The paper predicts new arrests of Armenian Armed Forces officers.
