Armenian opposition declares start of mass actions of disobedience
The Armenian opposition has announced the beginning of mass actions of disobedience with the aim of resigning Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
“We are launching mass actions of disobedience. Residents not only from Yerevan but also from the districts should join. The problem must be resolved here,” one of the opposition leaders, first Prime Minister of Armenia (in 1990-1991) Vazgen Manukyan said at an opposition rally on Republic Square in the centre of Yerevan, Interfax reports.
Earlier, the Armenian opposition announced the establishment of a national committee that would coordinate actions to remove Pashinyan and his government from power. Representative of the Dashnaktsutyun party Ishkhan Saghatelian said that the parliamentary opposition is initiating Pashinyan’s impeachment.
