Armenian PM agrees to meet with President Aliyev in case of Macron's participation
The Armenian Foreign Ministry has commented on Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s statement that the meeting with the Armenian prime minister would not be held as the Armenian side agreed to meet only if the French president would also take part in the meeting.
Spokesman for the Armenian Foreign Ministry Vahan Hunanyan said that the previous quadrilateral meeting in Prague on October 6, during which an agreement was reached to continue holding the meetings, was held in the presence of President Macron, and "it is logical to have the same format of the meeting and the same composition of the participants", the Armenian media reports citing the country’s Foreign Ministry, Caliber.Az informs.
It is necessary to remind the Armenian Foreign Ministry that after the Prague meeting, the Azerbaijani president and the Armenian prime minister held talks in Sochi, during which they quite successfully managed to talk without President Macron. All previous meetings in Brussels were also held in a trilateral format, namely, President Aliyev, President of the European Council Charles Michel, Prime Minister Pashinyan, and the presence of the French president was not required there either.
