Foreign Ministry official delivers sharp retort to Pashinyan over Russian base

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has taken an apparent swipe at Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, responding to his remarks about Russia’s 102nd Military Base with a quote from Mikhail Bulgakov’s classic novel "The Heart of a Dog."

Zakharova published the remark on her Telegram channel.

“Are you a man or a woman?” she wrote, apparently referring to Pashinyan’s statement concerning the Russian military base.

The exchange comes against the backdrop of ongoing discussions over Russia’s military presence in Armenia and the future of bilateral relations between Moscow and Yerevan.
