Armenian PM highlights need to repair access roads leading to military units
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has highlighted the need to repair access roads leading to military units.
"We have problems with the roads leading to military units. Two days ago, I made an unplanned visit to a military unit of the Third Corps, and right at the entrance, there was a pothole measuring one meter by two meters," Pashinyan said during a visit to the Tavush region, Caliber.Az reports citing the Armenian media.
He emphasised that the Ministry of Territorial Administration, together with the Defence Ministry, should assess and address these road problems.
Pashinyan noted that thousands of people, including the families of servicemen, use these roads.
"We are doing this for people," the prime minister added.
Pashinyan’s career has been marked by his role as a key figure in Armenia’s recent political transformation and his leadership during a period of significant change in the country. Pashinyan began his political career as a journalist and editor, working for various Armenian newspapers. His early involvement in politics came through his activism and journalism, particularly focusing on issues of corruption and governance.
Following the success of the Velvet Revolution, Pashinyan's party, My Step Alliance, won the parliamentary elections in December 2018. Pashinyan was appointed Prime Minister on May 8, 2018, succeeding Serzh Sargsyan. His tenure has been characterized by efforts to implement anti-corruption measures, promote democratic reforms, and address economic challenges.
