Astana hosts talks on future of Turkic World, regional cooperation PHOTO

Astana hosted a panel discussion on the future development of the Turkic world, with participants focusing on ways to deepen cooperation among Turkic states and address emerging regional and global challenges.

The discussion, titled "Turkic World Dialogues: Shared Future, Shared Vision,” was held ahead of the 13th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), scheduled to take place in Ankara on October 29–30, Caliber.Az reports, citing Kazakh media.

Speaking via video link, Burhanettin Duran, Head of the Directorate of Communications of the Turkish Presidency, said the upcoming summit should usher in a new stage of cooperation among Turkic states.

According to Duran, Türkiye plans to strengthen institutional ties among the countries and further enhance the international standing of the Turkic world.

The panel addressed a broad range of areas for cooperation, including the development of the Middle Corridor, energy and transport infrastructure, trade integration, the digital economy and artificial intelligence.

Participants also discussed key common challenges, with particular attention given to energy and food security, cybersecurity threats, climate change and disinformation.

Mustafa Kapucu, Türkiye’s Ambassador to Kazakhstan, said the geographic position, energy resources and transport and transit potential of Turkic states provide significant opportunities for expanding cooperation.

The discussions also covered scientific, humanitarian and media cooperation, including efforts to develop a common Turkic alphabet and strengthen joint efforts to counter disinformation.
